William McGirt
William McGirt earned his first spot on the PGA Tour by tying for second in the 2010 PGA Qualifying School Tournament. He found himself with four top 25 finishes in 2011 and became a fan favorite when he claimed the last spot in the Fed Ex Tournament in dramatic fashion, sinking a putt for birdie on the last hole on the last round the Wyndham Championship! He made the most of it by finishing T24 at The Barclays, and advanced to the Deutsche Bank Championship!
His best finish in 2011 came at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open where he finished T16. The Wofford College graduate and Fairmont, SC native, went back to Q-School in 2011 and earned his 2012 PGA TOUR card by finishing T13.
He lists his golf influences as his Grandfather, his Father and his Aunt, and his hero as Arnold Palmer. His Dream Foursome would be Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
William is involved with Camp Spearhead, a camp for adults and youths with special needs that creates an environment of unconditional acceptance in Greenville, SC.
