Tommy (Two Gloves) Gainey
Tommy “Two Gloves” Gainey comes to the 2011 PGA Tour having finished 4th on the Money List on the 2010 Nationwide Tour.
The Bishopville, SC native is famous for wearing two gloves, a habit he picked up playing baseball when he was young, he looks forward to building on his successful 2010 and making an impact on the 2011 PGA Tour.
“Two Gloves” is a self-made golfer and has taken a rather unconventional path to turning pro; un-recruited out of high school, he worked on an assembly line and as a furniture mover to earn money to play golf. A friend took a chance on him by paying a $750 tournament entrance fee for his first pro tournament, which he won with a $15,000 prize!
His dream foursome would include Arnold Palmer, Steve Spurrier and Tiger Woods. He lists his heroes as Fred Couples and rock band Hootie and the Blowfish.
