Risk Logo
The sign in the above picture is the Chinese sign for “risk”. It is comprised of two marks – the first signifying “danger” and the second signifying “opportunity”.
Great investors see the both the danger and the opportunity. They see performance before the rest of the market. Investors in human capital are no different, they see over and under achievement before the job is offered, the free agent is signed, or the draft pick is made.
Simply put, our strategy is to look for what others miss. We look for the danger and the opportunity inherent in every candidate, free agent or draft pick. We believe talent is either over rated (danger) or under rated (opportunity).
Our proprietary investment model analyzes five dimensions of danger (“risk”) including political, engagement and performance risk.
Our view - visible danger is manageable, hidden danger is not. You don’t have to gamble on a hire or free agent signing. Our strategy handicaps prospects under future operating conditions allowing for fully informed investment decisions.
As we identify the risk factors associated with each candidate we advise management on options for deploying the asset for maximum returns.
We do not replace management's pre-employment processes or behavioral assessments. We are not a vehicle for assessing talent. We are a platform for handicapping and selecting talent. We advise management as they speculate on the performance potential of each candidate.
Our investment strategy projects the candidate as a variable in a broader performance equation. We refer to this proprietary methodology as Performance Speculation™. |
